In English, we learned a lot about old literature and connected that to the characters we played during the exhibition. Then we got to write our own writing pieces. I specifically wrote mine in old English. In History, my favorite part was learning about the importance of the Renaissance while also seeing the connections between those times to our modern times. In math, I really enjoyed creating a game that originated during the Renaissance. This taught me a lot about the history in different parts of Europe along with how people entertained themselves. Science as a whole was groundbreaking during the Renaissance, being able to learn first hand about these discoveries was really amazing in chemistry.
I’ll say 7. This project was somewhat challenging.
The most challenging part of the project was probably becoming my character. That required a lot of research and information, along with a lot of practicing talking and acting like my character. During the actual exhibition though, all of that really payed off.
I received critique from 2 of my classmates and my mother. Most of the critique I received was about making my word choice sound more in line with the time period. I ended up making big changes to my writing piece because of this.
I’m pretty proud of what I wrote because it really shows a big part of my characters life. My writing piece was a letter to a dear friend of mine which not only talked about their friendship, but about my character’s relationships with other people and major accomplishments in his lifetime.
I thought I did very well this exhibition. I followed the schedule and really showed people who my character was and the history of his life. I thought my costume made it pretty obvious that I was royalty which helped right off the bat. I also acted kind of snobby, asserting my authority towards the guest. Then I would explain who I was and how I contributed to the Renaissance.
I would of liked to change how the bank worked in terms of the money used for the exhibition. We ran out of coins almost immediately which did not let everyone have the same experience in the royal area.
I think I do understand the lasting impact of the renaissance. I understand the fact that many great technological achievements were made during this time and that this era served as a bridge from the middle ages to the modern ages.
I think I deserve an A+ because I put a lot of hard work and effort into the work for this project. I completed every assignment on time and contributed quite a bit to making our exhibition space look good.
