Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's StoneFor the final post of my book, I will explain everything that has happened from where I left off till the end of the book. At this point, Harry and his classmates have final exams, which stress everyone out beyond belief. Harry is also doing these exams under some circumstances. He paranoid that Voldemort will burst in through the door at any moment and kill him, it's really hot in the classrooms, and the scar on his forehead is making his head hurt very badly. After completing them, he storms to Hagrid's house to find out some important news. Hagrid comes to tell them that whoever he bought that dragon egg from (they suspect it was Voldemort), he told them how to get past Fluffy and into the hiding place of the Sorcerer's Stone.
After finding out all of this news, Harry thinks up a very dangerous plan and tells Ron and Hermione. He tells them that he is going to use the invisibility cloak and the flute Hagrid gave him to get past Fluffy and stop Snape himself from stealing the Sorcerer's Stone. Ron and Hermione don't stop him but in fact say they want to help, even if they might get caught, resulting in more points lost for Gryffindor. That night, once everyone is gone, Harry and his friends grab their materials and start on their way. Before they can leave however, Neville catches them and already knows that they are on their way out. He threatens them to stop and confronts them by standing in their way ready to fight. After a little bit, Hermione decides to use a spell on Neville which makes his limbs immovable. After getting past Neville, they make their way to Fluffy and see that the door has already been opened before, proving that someone was on their way to steal the stone. The walk inside and the use the flute to put Fluffy to sleep, jumping down into the door that they opened. They land on something soft after falling for a while. As Harry and Ron are happy they landed safely, Hermione screams and runs untangling herself from the vines that have already wrapped around Harry and Ron's legs. She finally thinks up a spell and burns the vines, which just narrowly save Ron and Harry. They advance to the next room which has hundreds of flying keys flying above them. They use brooms and scout for the right key, which Harry finds. The finally secure the key and use it to unlock the door. They move to the next room, which has a giant chess board with giant chess pieces. They discover that they have to play the game and win to advance to the next room. Ron becomes a knight, Harry becomes a bishop, and Hermione takes the place of a castle. Ron essentially leads their army, sacrificing pieces to gain the advantage. After playing for a while, Ron sees a way to win the game. This involves him sacrificing himself to the white queen so that Harry can take out the white king. Ron gets knocked out by the white queen and is dragged off the board. Harry secures the win and reluctantly leaves Ron to rest while he and Hermione continue to the next room. They walk into the next room as purple fire shoots up behind them blocking their way back and black fire shoots up blocking their way forward. The next room involves multiple bottles full of unknown liquids. They pick up a pair which gives them knowledge as to what the bottles do and clues as to know which bottles are good and bad. Harry who is stumped, lets Hermione figure out this puzzle. After a while of thinking, Hermione figures out which bottle leads them back to Ron and which leads them forward. Since there is only enough liquid for one person to go forward, Harry tells Hermione to go back to Ron, while he will face the thief himself. Hermione drinks the liquid and goes back through the purple flames, while Harry drinks the liquid and continues through the black flames. He gets into the next room and finally encounters the thief, who actually is Professor Quirrell. Quirrell talks normally to Harry, without his fake stutter, and says that no one would of suspected him because they thought Snape was the thief. He also tells Harry that Snape was actually trying to protect Harry the entire year, since Snape was in debt to Harry's father. After telling him everything, Quirrell summons rope which ties around Harry. He then studies the Mirror of Erised to try and find the stone, but with no luck he tells Harry to tell him what he sees in the mirror after the voice of Voldemort tells him so. Harry sees himself in the mirror, but this reflection is smiling. The reflection pulls out the Sorcerer's Stone from it's pocket, winks, and then puts it back in it's pocket only for Harry to then feel the stone in his own pocket. Quirrell asks him what he saw, but Harry lied to him and tries to escape with the stone. The voice says that Harry is lying and wants to speak face to face with him. Quirrell takes off his turban and rivals Voldemort's face on the back of his head. The face tells Harry to join him otherwise he will be killed just like his parents were. Harry denies and tries to run, only to be caught by Quirrell. The scar on Harry's head makes Quirrell unable to touch him without being burned. Quirrell kept trying to grab Harry but couldn't hold on for long. Harry ended up passing out from the pain in his scar. He woke up the next day in the hospital wing on a hospital bed, with Dumbledore by his side. Harry finds out that Dumbledore saved Harry from being killed and that the stone was destroyed. He also learns that Voldemort is still out there and about the relationship between his father and Snape. After a long talk with Dumbledore and then Ron Hermione, Harry is permitted to attend the House Cup feast. They get to the feast and see that everything is green and silver, meaning that Slytherin won the House Cup. Before they officially won however, Dumbledore gave out some list minute points due to the heroic acts that happened recently. Ron and Hermione both earn 50 points each, Harry earns 60 points, and Neville earn 10 points for standing up against his friends. This puts Gryffindor at the number one spot, which means they are the winners of the House Cup. Dumbledore then snaps his fingers which turns all of the Slytherin decorations and colors, to the colors of Gryffindor. Everyone celebrates that Slytherin has finally lost. Now, since the first year is over, everyone returns home for the summer. I think the story continues on with Harry messing with his family at home with bits of magic here and there. Harry and his friends probably meet up over the summer and have an amazing experience after an experience unlike any other during their first year at Hogwarts. If I wrote a sequel, it would be about a special unit that is trained to fighting back against Voldemort. This would probably include Harry, his friends, the professors, and Dumbledore all leading an assault to riding the world of Voldemort. It would have a secret agent vibe to it. Harry would probably become more mature throughout the sequel because he is having to take on more responsibility. I would recommend this book to a friend because it is very relatable and very immersive since they are only children and are already more aware than most of the adults. I will comment on Michael, Rachna, and Maddy T's posts.
